The highly popular Gremio Lusitano Club of Ludlow, MA was originally founded in 1922. Now in existence for over 80 years, it currently has an active roster of over 1,200 members.
Recent renovations at the club include an elegant banquet hall that offers a 450 seating capacity to both members and the public for special events or occasions.
The expanded and modernized members-only Sports Bar & Lounge boasts 5 large flat-screen TVs, providing relaxed and comfortable viewing of favorite sporting events. In addition, members have the option to rent one of several private rooms, some equipped with a large projection screen TV.
The updated facility includes a fitness gym, and the Sports Club houses a D3 semi-pro soccer team – the Western Mass Pioneers. It is also home to the Lady Pioneers and the Junior Pioneers – the largest premier youth organization in western Massachusetts.
The club attracts both male and female members who participate in dart and billiard teams, and many of its members are also active in a western Massachusetts men’s bocce league. In addition to these activities, the club is also involved in providing opportunities and support for the continued growth of cultural traditions such as Portuguese folk dancing with the “Flores de Portugal”.
